The Baltimore Orioles sign Chris Dickerson
The Orioles have signed 30-year old lefty swinging outfielder Chris Dickerson to a minor league deal. Dickerson played in 25 games for the Yankees last year and he was 4 for 14 (.286 avg, 1.126 OPS) with 5 runs scored, 2 homers, 5 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. He also played in 69 games in AAA-ball for the Yankees last year in which he was 84 of 266 (.316 avg, .932 OPS) with 57 runs scored, 7 homers, 25 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. Dickerson has now played in 258 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 138 of 518 (.266 avg, .760 OPS) with 76 runs scored, 11 homers, 47 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. Dickerson will get a shot to win a bench job for the Orioles this spring.
