30-year old J.J. Hardy is one of the better all-around shortstops in all of baseball.  He played in 158 games for the Orioles last year and he was 158 of 663 (.238 avg, .671 OPS) with 85 runs scored, 22 homers and 68 RBIs.  He played in 158 games (all starts) at shortstop for the Orioles last year and he had 6 errors while showing off excellent range.  Hardy has now played in 959 games in his first 8 years in the majors and he is 934 of 3,605 (.259 avg, .740 OPS) with 484 runs scored, 133 homers, 451 RBIs and 6 stolen bases.  The Orioles don’t have much of a backup plan at SS, so they need Hardy to stay healthy in 2013.

PROJECTED GRADE FOR THE SHORTSTOPS IN 2013:  B+
