The Baltimore Orioles have designated 30-year old lefty swinging outfielder Julio Borbon for assignment. Borbon played in 5 games for the Orioles this year and he was 2 for 9 (.222 avg, .444 OPS) with 1 run scored. He has now played in 293 games in his first five years in the show and he is 217 of 798 (.272 avg, .663 OPS) with 112 runs scored, 8 homers, 76 RBIs and 47 stolen bases. The Orioles needed Borbon’s roster spot to activate 28-year old lefty swinging outfielder Hyun Soo Kim. Kim has played in 46 games for the Orioles so far this year and he is 50 for 152 (.329 avg, .864 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 3 homers, 11 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Kim has been a pleasant surprise for the Orioles this year, as he was pretty awful in spring training for them.
